Terms of Service

About Mopawo
Mopawo is a local marketplace platform operated by Kedesolutions Inc, a company registered in Alberta, Canada. These Terms of Service govern your use of the Mopawo website and mobile application.
Using Mopawo
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account
- You agree to provide accurate and complete information
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account
- You agree not to use the platform for illegal or fraudulent purposes
Orders and payments
When you place an order, you agree to pay the listed price plus any applicable fees, taxes, and delivery charges. Prices and availability are set by individual vendors. All payments are processed securely through our payment provider. Mopawo does not support cash or off-platform payments for orders placed on the marketplace.
Identity verification
Vendors and couriers must complete identity verification through our payment provider, and provide payout details, before they can receive money through the platform. We may also request business registration documents, licences, insurance, or a food handling certificate depending on your role and what you sell. Accounts that fail or do not complete verification may be limited or suspended.
Product options, add-ons and units
- Vendors may offer paid options and add-ons — sizes, colours, flavours, a custom message, and extra items — on any product, including same-day and next-day items. Add-ons are charged as flat fees in addition to the item price multiplied by quantity, and the full total is shown before you pay
- Products may be sold in different units or tiers (per piece, pack, kg, tray, person, or serving). The vendor chooses which unit customers see and may set a minimum number of servings, which is shown on the product page and enforced at checkout
- Products that carry options or add-ons must be opened and configured on the product page before they can be added to a cart
Made-to-order items and production advances
- Made-to-order items are produced specifically for you. Vendors may set a minimum lead time, and options such as size, servings, colour, flavour, a handwritten message, or paid add-ons are priced and charged at checkout
- You must select a delivery or pickup date before paying for made-to-order items. Several made-to-order items can be placed in one order — the longest lead time applies — but they cannot be combined with same-day items in the same checkout
- Made-to-order items are paid in full at checkout. Where enabled, Mopawo may release part of the vendor’s payout as a production advance once payment is received, with the balance released after delivery
- You may cancel a made-to-order item for a full refund only before the vendor marks production as started. After production starts the item is generally non-refundable, except where the item is not delivered, is defective, or applicable consumer protection law says otherwise
- If an order is cancelled or refunded before production starts, any advance already paid to the vendor is reversed and recovered from the vendor
Event services
Some vendors offer event services at checkout — delivery by the vendor instead of a courier, and in-person serving charged at an hourly rate with limits on staff and hours. These services are booked for the whole order, and you must provide an accurate event address and time. After the event, an order enters a 24-hour completion and dispute window; if no issue is raised the order completes automatically and the vendor is paid on the normal schedule.
Venue and event bookings
- Venue vendors list bookable spaces with dated time slots, optional packages and extras, and optional event staffing. You may book several slots across different spaces and dates in one cart, up to 365 days ahead
- Event staffing is priced per role and service at an hourly rate, and may carry a minimum number of hours and a maximum headcount set by the vendor. The full breakdown — space, date, time, slot fee, packages, and staffing — is shown before you pay and repeated on your confirmation
- Slots and staff capacity are held for you while you check out. Removing a slot, a package, or a staffing line releases that capacity immediately, and unpaid holds expire so the time can be booked by someone else
- You must provide accurate event contact, access, and timing details. Bookings are paid in full at checkout; cancellations, changes, and refunds follow the vendor’s stated booking terms together with the platform rules in these terms
- Mopawo may set venue-specific commission rates and subscription prices for venue vendors. This does not change the price you are shown at checkout
Store hours and product availability
Vendors publish their open days and opening hours, which are shown on their storefront. Online ordering is blocked while a store is closed. Vendors may also limit individual products to specific weekdays or date ranges — for example items that are only baked on certain days — and those products cannot be ordered outside the scheduled days.
Food safety and food handling certificates
Vendors selling food, baked goods, drinks, or catering must hold a valid food handling certificate and upload it for review, and must comply with all local health and food safety rules — including where the business is home-based. Certificate expiry dates are read from the uploaded document with an assisted reader and confirmed by the vendor. Verified certificates may display a food safety badge on the storefront. Expired or rejected certificates may cause food listings to be restricted or unpublished. Vendors remain solely responsible for the safety, labelling, allergen information, and legality of the food they sell.
Role-specific terms
Mopawo serves three types of users — customers, vendors, and couriers. By using the platform in any role, you agree to the general terms above as well as the role-specific terms below that apply to you.
Customers
- You agree to provide accurate delivery information and to be available to receive orders
- You are responsible for paying for items ordered, including any delivery fees and taxes
- You agree to treat vendors and couriers with respect and to follow each vendor’s order rules
- Refunds, returns, and cancellations follow the in-app returns flow and the platform-wide return window set by Mopawo (currently 3 days after delivery), which applies to every vendor
Vendors
- You must be legally permitted to sell the products you list and hold any required licenses or permits
- You may sell as a registered business or as an individual / sole proprietor. Individual sellers may operate under graduated limits — such as a cap on published products, no team seats, restricted advertising, and lower production-advance limits — until they register a business or meet published order and sales thresholds
- If you sell food of any kind, you must upload a valid food handling certificate, keep it current, and meet all local health and food safety rules including where you operate a home-based business; expired or rejected certificates may restrict or unpublish your food listings
- Your legal business name and your public display name are separate; you must keep both accurate and not use a display name that misleads customers
- You are responsible for the accuracy of product descriptions, pricing, stock, images (up to five per product), unit tiers and minimums, options and add-ons, and event services, and for the quality, safety, and legality of what you sell
- Where you offer event services, you must attend at the agreed time and location, staff the event as booked, and follow the same hygiene and food safety standards on site
- You agree to honor confirmed orders, communicate through the in-app messaging tools, and handle returns, refunds, and disputes fairly and promptly
- You must accept and process return requests opened within Mopawo’s platform-wide return window (currently 3 days after delivery). You may not set your own return period, and you may not require customers to arrange returns or refunds outside the in-app flow. Marking specific items as non-returnable is allowed only where genuinely justified (for example made-to-order, perishable, or final-sale goods)
- You may pause, unpublish, or archive your own stores. Mopawo may also pause a store for policy, safety, verification, or billing reasons; a store paused by Mopawo cannot be resumed by the vendor
- You authorize Mopawo to display your store information, products, and social handles on the platform
- Service fees, commissions, subscription charges, and payout timing are shown in the app and may be updated with notice. Payouts are transferred automatically after the applicable hold period
- You are responsible for the actions of any team members you invite to your account
- Where you book a standalone courier request for a sale made outside the marketplace, you remain fully liable for that delivery — including the accuracy of the information you provide, the condition, legality, and packaging of the items handed over, the delivery fee, and any claim, dispute, or refund raised by the recipient. Mopawo is not a party to the underlying sale
- Every standalone courier request must include the recipient’s full name, a reachable phone number, and a complete delivery address. Requests with missing or inaccurate recipient details may be cancelled or refused without refund, and you are responsible for any resulting failed-delivery, redelivery, or return costs
- A request may include several recipients as a single multi-drop trip, and may nominate a collection address other than your store. You must have the right to hand over the items from that address and ensure someone is available to release them
- Each request carries a pickup code that you must give the assigned courier at handover. Sharing the code before the goods are ready, or with anyone other than the assigned courier, is at your own risk
- You confirm you have the recipient’s consent to share their contact and address details with Mopawo and the assigned courier for the purpose of completing the delivery, including for recipients you save for reuse
- Where you save a payment method to your account, you authorize Mopawo to charge that card automatically for standalone courier requests and other vendor charges you initiate, without a further checkout step. Cards are stored by our payment provider; you may change or remove them at any time, and requests may not be dispatched if a charge fails
Couriers
- You must have the legal right to work and to operate any vehicle you use for deliveries in your area
- You are responsible for maintaining valid identification, licenses, insurance, and a roadworthy vehicle where required
- You agree to handle orders with care, follow delivery instructions, share your location while on an active delivery, capture delivery photo evidence, and deliver within agreed timeframes
- You agree not to tamper with, open, or misuse items entrusted to you for delivery
- You must keep your licence, insurance, and any other required documents valid and uploaded. We notify you before a document expires; where a document lapses or is rejected, delivery offers are paused until a valid replacement is approved
- Where a delivery carries a pickup code, you must verify it with the sender at collection. Standalone courier requests may involve a collection address other than a store, and a single trip may include several drops
- Delivery offers may be delivered as push notifications, including repeated alerts and, on supported devices, accept or decline actions from the notification itself. Responding to an offer is your decision and your responsibility
- You operate as an independent contractor; Mopawo is not your employer
Vendors and couriers must also follow the Operations Guide published in the app, which forms part of these terms and is updated from time to time.
Mopawo facilitates the connection between customers, vendors, and couriers but is not directly responsible for the products sold by vendors or the delivery services provided by couriers.
Vendor subscriptions and billing
Some vendor features — including additional store slots, team seats, and the offline store add-on — require a paid plan or add-on. Subscriptions renew automatically using the payment method on file (card or pre-authorized debit) until cancelled. Bank-debit payments may remain in a processing state for several business days, and that status is visible to both the vendor and Mopawo. A live breakdown of plan and add-on charges is shown in the vendor billing page. Plan prices may change with notice, and renewals are charged at the current price. Mopawo may pause or suspend subscriptions and related features where payment fails or an account is under review.
In-store (in-person sales)
Vendors may subscribe to the optional In-store tool, a point-of-sale tool for recording in-person and cash sales. In-store sales are the vendor’s own transactions: they draw down the same inventory, but they are not marketplace orders, Mopawo does not process those payments, and no platform commission applies. Vendors are solely responsible for the collection of payment, receipts, and applicable taxes on in-store sales, and for keeping the records they enter accurate. This does not permit taking cash or off-platform payment for orders placed on the marketplace.
The In-store tool can also be subscribed to on its own by vendors on a commission plan. It bills monthly and renews until cancelled in the billing page.
Pricing and commission changes
Vendors may set prices directly or from a target take-home amount, in which case the platform calculates the listed price including processing and service fees. Where Mopawo enables or disables commission for an account, listed prices may be adjusted automatically so the vendor’s take-home stays the same; the price you see at checkout is always the price you pay.
Activity records
Mopawo keeps a record of key activity on the platform — such as account and store changes, product creation and edits, orders, bookings, and payouts — to operate the service, provide support, and resolve disputes. See our Privacy Policy.
Advertising
Vendors may purchase promotional placements such as home banners, featured placements, sponsored products, and sponsored category placements. Campaigns are paid in advance and reviewed before going live. Mopawo may reject, pause, or remove any campaign that is inaccurate, misleading, unlawful, or otherwise contrary to these terms; refunds for rejected or cancelled campaigns follow the ad policy shown in the app.
Account security
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. Two-factor authentication is required for administrator accounts and available to all users. Tell us immediately if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.
Cancellations, returns and refunds
Cancellation, return, and refund requests are handled through the in-app returns flow. Orders can no longer be cancelled once a courier has collected them. If you experience an issue with your order, contact the vendor through the app or reach out to us for assistance.
Return window. Mopawo sets a single platform-wide return window that applies to every vendor and every store. Return requests must be opened within 3 days of the order being marked delivered. Vendors cannot lengthen, shorten, or waive this window, and requests opened after it closes are rejected automatically by the platform. Mopawo may change the window from time to time; the period shown here is the one currently in force. Individual items may still be marked non-returnable by the vendor (for example made-to-order, perishable, or final-sale goods), and Mopawo support may accept a request outside the window in exceptional cases such as items not delivered, defective goods, or where consumer protection law requires it.
Limitation of liability
Mopawo is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Kedesolutions Inc is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes, and your continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
